2010 Oscar Winners

Well... anyone who listens to our podcast is going to know what things we expected, what things we were surprised by and the one thing that was a blatant "robbing", shall we say. But for those who prefer to read, rather than listen... let me just mention a few of my highlights of last night:

WOW! Could they have rushed Best Picture any faster? I understand that things take longer than expected, but after 82 years of doing this... don't you think you should start by rushing through the earlier ones (ya know, the ones without 5 people introducing 5 people and the winner talking for 5 minutes) to allow for more time for the "more anticipated" movies? I can't believe how quickly they closed it down last night, and it honestly makes me lose a bit of respect for the people who run this thing. How dare you rush someone off the stage with no acceptance speech (poor Tom Hanks thought he'd have more screen time) but let people like Alec Baldwin, homeless Jessica Rabbit and "Text us!" guy waste time. Shame!

Christoph Waltz - pure gentleman, so glad he won.

Sandra Bullock - robbed (ROBBED!) Meryl Streep of this award. And wouldn't even hug her?? WTF, man? And then the references to kissing and making out and lovers... can someone enlighten me? When did Sandy and Meryl make out? Meryl would never stoop so low.

George Clooney - everything I liked about him in Up in the Air was... GONE last night. He was cold and stony and unappreciative (yes the jokes were bad, but that camera is on you... smile and act nice, damn it.) Have a little class, George.

Oprah and Tyler Perry - shame on you both. At least Oprah was well spoken, but both were unnecessary in my point of view, and not because I hate them, but because... come on, Tyler Perry should NEVER be that close to the Oscars. It might give him ideas. He should be at home in a wig watching them on TV.

Aw, this was a really quality post. In theory I'd like to write like this too - taking time and real effort to make a good article... but what can I say... I procrastinate alot and never seem to get something done.
